Touchstone Energy All A Classic Basketball Tournament
As known for more than a decade, basketball fans from all over Kentucky gather to Richmond in February for the famous Touchstone Energy All A Classic Basketball Tournament. Thanks to a unique cooperation between the City of Richmond, Touchstone Energy and the All A Classic, the tournament brings more than 50,000 out-of-town guests per year to Richmond for five days of basketball action. The event has a significant economic impact on the community, filling local hotels and motels, restaurants, stores, gas stations and businesses for the duration of the tournament.
Touchstone Energy All A Classic is a tournament that specifically targets Class A schools in the state of Kentucky. Madison County is home to two Class A schools: Model Laboratory School and Berea Community School.
Monetary support as well as material, supply and food donations are a necessity to hosting a tournament of this size for five days. All contributors will be acknowledged in tournament advertisements, newspaper releases and on posters throughout the region and tournament site.
More than 200 volunteers are needed to make the five day event operate. Volunteering for the All A Classic is one of the most rewarding and exciting community service opportunities of the year.
