Movies in the Park: An Astronomical Night of Fun and Learning
Sep 28 @ 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Richmond Parks and Recreation and Madison County Public Library present the third annual “Astronomical Night of Fun & Learning” at Irvine McDowell Park. Activities begin at 6:00pm on Friday, Sept. 28th and the movie begins at dusk. Bring the whole family for a night of fun and enrichment for everyone. Please remember to bring your own blankets/lawn chairs and snacks! • Urban Ninja Project: Star Wars Ninja activities!

• Hummel Planetarium: Space science activities

• The Magic of John Curra (lightsaber balloons and much more!)

• Estes Martial Arts of Richmond, KY: Young Jedi Training demonstration

• Food Vendors

Are you ready to DANCE?!? Disney Junior Dance Party On Tour Presented by Pull-Ups® Training Pants! is an ALL NEW interactive live concert experience. Sing and dance along to Disney Junior’s greatest hits with your favorite characters. Kids of all ages and their families are all invited to the biggest dance party around!

The Halloween Hoe-Down is a family friendly event designed for children 10 and under!

The festival will begin at 6:00pm and continue until 8:00pm. Free activities include kids games and prizes, contests, inflatables, a petting zoo, walk-around characters, and more!

Visit the Fort to see and hear the differences in the holiday celebrations of the season during the early settlement of Kentucky. The Fort will be lighted by candlelight, with decorations in keeping with the traditions of the time. There will be Living History interpretations of the traditions of various ethnic groups and nationalities during the season. Candle lanterns, bonfires, the Christmas Guns, food and refreshments, music and dance, will all add to the atmosphere. Refreshments are included! This is a special program sponsored by the Fort Boonesborough Foundation.  Admission is Adult/ $8 — Child (6-12)/$5 – under 6- free.
